Stamp It Blog Hop — Christmas in July Under the Mistletoe!

Hello and welcome stampers and paper crafters!  It's July and with your visit to my blog you have entered the Stamp It Bog Hop.  This month's theme is going to blow you away…Christmas in July!!  Eeeek!!!  I know that the big holiday seems like it is far away (less than 6 months), but it's always a good thing to be aware of so you know that now is the time to start working on your cards.  We are here to help fill your inspiration bucket, so let's see what I have for your bucket!

My card is a wonderful sneak peak of some brand new stamps and framelits that will be available for purchase come August 1st.  This set is called Blended Seasons and has 12 stamp images with a coordinating die set called Stitched Seasons Framelits.  The main focal point rests on the designer series paper found in the Annual Catalog called Under the Mistletoe.  PLUS, this paper pack is one of the selections for the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Promotion.

I am super in love with the stitched framelits!!  They are nothing like we've had in our collections before.  Not only do they produce a beautiful shape, but when die cut from watercolor paper, the finished cut makes it look like a pillow top stitching…really cool effect.  The holly leaves and berries image was watercolored using an Aqua Painter and ink squished into the lids of my Shaded Spruce and Real Red ink pads.

Outside of popping up the sentiment, there needed (in my opinion) to be a little somethin-somethin added to help make the whole panel just POP.  Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, I added a dollop of the clear liquid glue to each of the holly berries.  TIP: This step was the last thing I did to the card, because when you do this, you will need to set the card aside for a few hours to let the liquid glue dry naturally.  I don't recommend using a heat tool to speed up the drying as it could remove the sheen of the handmade glue dot due to the heat of the Heat Tool.
