Coloring Vivid Vases with Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities

So, how many of you have dropped everything to get your hands on Stampin' Up!'s new Blendabilities markers?  ME, ME, ME (arm raised in the air anxiously awaiting for the teacher to pick me to answer the question)!  LOL  And, of course, I couldn't just stop at one set….they are like your favorite candy…very addicting and so much fun to play with.  I held a Blendabilities class a few weeks ago, and everyone was certainly "WOW'd" with ease of using them.  My favorite part was watching their expressions go from 'Hmmmm, I'm not sure about this because I have no clue what I'm doing' to the best expression "OMG!  This is so cool!  Look at me….I can color!"  LOVE it!!

 I've listed the card recipe for you….

• Basic Black card base measures the 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" with the fold across the top.
• Layered some luscious Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler
• Positioned the Coastal Cabana layer that was die cut using the Deco Collection Framelit onto the Typeset Specialty paper
• Wrapped some of the beautiful Venetian Crochet Trim and tied in a pretty bow to one side.
• Stamped the Vivid Vases stamp using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  Colored in the vases and blooms using a variety of Blendabilities markers and punched out the image with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.  Layered onto Basic Black cardstock that was die cut using the Circles Collection Framelits. Added dimensionals and set in place.
• The sentiment is part of the Vivid Vases stamp, but I only inked up the words using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped onto a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock.  After coloring the vase and flowers with my Daffodil Delight Blendabilities marker, it resembled Crushed Curry.  😉
• Added a extra touch with some Basic Pearls,
• and, there you have it!

BLENDABILITIES COLORING TIP:  Be careful when coloring on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I discovered that the more blending I did, the more the color would 'seep' or 'bleed' outside of the lines of the stamped image where I started with my dark Blendability marker.  Click on the image to see what I mean.  I suggest that you leave a smidgin of 'white' space between the dark color and the lines of the stamped image to allow for 'bleeding' to occur.  Personally, I think the 'bleeding' gave the vases a vintage/mossy look, but I know there are a lot of stampers that much prefer the clean look.
