OSAT Blog Hop — Bring On The Birthday Cheer
Hello stampers and paper crafters! My name is Lori Mueller (stampindreams.com) and I want to welcome you to my blog and the March One Stamp At a Time (OSAT) Design Team Blog Hop! This may be your first stop on the hop, or you may have hopped over here from the previous OSAT designer. Either way, in order to view all of the blog participants sharing their wonderful craftiness, click on the next person in line within the list of blogger's posted at the end.
This month's theme is "Bring On The Birthday", and it couldn't have been any better timing for me. My husband and I have a good sized set of friends that have been together for over 30 years, and we are all getting to that 'golden' age in life. You know the ones — they always have a big fat "0" as the 2nd digit! haha!
To calm the anxiety of our friends recently celebrating the big 6-0, I thought I would add a little fun Birthday Cheer. So far, it is the men/husbands who are reaching this ripe age, and I wanted to have the card a bit larger than the traditional 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", so that there was enough space for everyone to write a note and sign. So, I pulled out one of the cards from the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes pack. The larger sized card base when folded measures 4-1/4" x 6-1/4"; and the Night of Navy base was perfect to help show off all of the Gold Foil and Basic Black layers. Oh, and it lends itself as more masculine, too. *grin*
The Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies is so cute and can dress up a birthday card for any age. To really drive the "golden age" home, I added a large Scallop Circle to the sentiment layer and pieces of Gold Foil paper attached to the back of each present.
To add a subtle glam and to tone down the Night of Navy cardbase, I embossed a piece of Vellum cardstock with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder. I think it really fit in with the numbers that were hand cut from one of the patterns of paper found in the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. Overall, I think it turned out spectacular, don't you think?
Coordinating Birthday Cheer Treat Box
No golden celebration can go unnoticed without a little bit of Nebraska-native Melt Away chocolates wrapped in a shiny gold foil!! I love dressing up our little acetate Clear Tiny Treat Boxes. They make a perfect gift ensemble for any occasion — even for the men in our lives who are turning 60! teehehe
At this time, you are now ready to hop on over to the next OSAT designers blog. You won't want to miss traveling on as I know they will have something fun and exciting to share with you. If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can click your way through the blog list found below. Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!
